Smoking in East Sussex
An estimated 106,000 people in the UK die each year due to smoking, and smoking related diseases.
The adult smoking prevalence in England (1998-2000) was estimated at 27%, men being slightly higher at 28%, women 26%.
Below are the smoking rates for East Sussex*:
- Bexhill & Rother: 22%
- Brighton & Hove City: 33%
- Eastbourne Downs: 26%
- Hastings & St Leonard’s: 33%
- Sussex Downs & Weald: 23%
