Free NRT at new free Stop Smoking drop-ins

NEW stop smoking drop-ins offering free nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) start on Thursday 16 October at Brighton Town Hall.

City smokers who want to quit can drop-in at the town hall anytime from 5.30-6.30 any Thursday from 16 October to 27 November.

Run by the city’s stop smoking specialist team, the new drop-in service will offer advice, information and support as well as free patches and other NRT to help people beat their nicotine addiction.

“If you smoke but have been thinking about stopping before the winter kicks in, drop-in and find out how we can help you. There’s no need to book, just come along,” says Anna Fairhurst, who runs the stop smoking service.

Kate Lawson, health promotion lead manager at Brighton and Hove City Teaching Primary Care Trust (PCT) which funds the stop smoking services, adds: “The new drop-ins are a welcome flexible way to help more city smokers beat their addiction.”
